About Us
Global Partners was established in 2005 to promote democratic politics, effective governance and human rights around the world by developing policy and practice, and shaping the approaches of donors and governments, civil society organisations and private sector partners.
Established by Andrew Puddephatt and Greg Power, GPA is built on the expertise of its staff and associates who provide innovative advice, research and analysis, and deliver projects and training.
Its distinctive approach is characterised by three factors:
- politics matters – institutions and projects are always influenced by political factors
- context matters – there are no universal solutions to political problems; each project is unique
- outcomes matter – all projects should have a clear purpose and a tangible impact.
GPA believes change cannot be imposed from the outside, it has to come from within a country, institution or organisation. We support partners who are interested in political change, working from the understanding that change isn’t a straightforward or linear process and that it starts from small initiatives.
